Bob Lanning is a Navy veteran, joining in 1957 after his graduation from Midland High School. Bob was discharged from the Navy in 1960. He's an SAL at the American Legion Post 165 in Midland, Michigan. Lanning has followed Berryhill Baseball for the majority part of his life. He started running the scoreboard for Berryhill back in 1995 as they were in need of a scorekeeper. Bobby was their guy. Lanning and Don Winger have been working in the pressbox together for over 20 years. When Bobby is not operarting the scoreboard for Post 165, he's somewhere in the stands watching them play. Bobby has been to many District, State, Regional and World Series tournaments that Berryhill Baseball has participated in.

 

Charles "Chuck" Murphy is a US Air Force veteran where he served from 1986-1990, also serving time in the Michigan Nation Guard from 2000-2006. In 1994, Chuck helped lead the team to a Runner-Up finish in the Colt League World Series while securing a United States championship along the way.  As an assistant coach with Lansing MEA/Ramont baseball program from 1997-2000, Murphy helped produce four consecutive league championships, three district titles, one regional runner-up finish.  The 1999 squad won the AABC Stan Musial Regional and automatic bid to the Stan Musial World Series. In 2009, Coach Murphy was the head coach for the Midland Cobras and led them to their only Saginaw Township Men’s League championship.  He has also coached with the St. Louis Spirits and Riverdale Lumberjacks clubs of the Gratiot County League. Murphy has been conducting his PA duties since summer of 2017 and is an active member with Midland Berryhill Post 165. Chuck is a 1985 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart Academy and also earned his B.B.A. from Northwood University in 2010. Murphy resides in Midland where he is the proud father of two sons, Tanner and Trevor.
